With domestic production to a healthier diet

Trade and bakery shop "Bereg" from Sokolac is another beneficiary of grants from the Challenge Fund, thanks to which it has significantly expanded the range of its products, increased the number of employees and strengthened its competitiveness in the very demanding confectionery market.

"Thanks to the project supported by the C2C fund, we managed to increase the volume of production, sales and exports, and we hired six new workers on a permanent basis. All six are women, which was our goal", says the owner of the shop, Miodrag Planinčić.

They received the maximum grant in the amount of 58,674.90 BAM for the project "With domestic production to a healthier diet. Project for improving the production of healthy biscuits and chocolate" whose total value is as much as 247,218.87 BAM. The full effect from the realization of the project is expected soon when all production capacities are in function and when the production of all planned products is established.

"Through this project, we have acquired a line for the production of biscuits, a special mill for the production of cream products, a mixer, rotary ovens and packaging machines. We have successfully tested the production, trained the workers and started the production of new types of creamy products and biscuits. Thanks to the new equipment, the capacity of the biscuit production line in one shift is 500 kg, and the cream production line capacity is 600 kg", explains Planinčić and adds that, in cooperation with technologists, they will be able to offer new types of biscuits to the market in the coming period.

Their main trump card is quality, price and accessibility to end consumers.

Trade and bakery store "Bereg" was founded in 2010 and has been constantly recording growth in operating revenues, the number of employees and the number of finished products. They have their own modern production plant, as well as five sales facilities, and they supply a large number of trade companies in the region with their products. The main products are bread, pastries, pies and cakes, followed by frozen pastries, wafers and pasta. Numerous certificates guarantee high quality products to customers and business partners. They currently employ 33 workers.

"We are grateful to the C2C fund for recognizing us and supporting our project. Such a serious investment would not have been possible in the near future without the non-refundable funds we received", says Planinčić.
